A contestant humorously tried to avert this once.Once, a partially filled-in puzzle that eventually led to BARBECUE SPIT had, among other letters, the 'P' still uncovered, and a contestant called an 'H.' 'Thankfully, no,' noted Pat.Pat was sure to make a big deal out of things. Several times during Sajak's original daytime run, the puzzles would either include mild profanity (e.g., 'HELL BENT FOR ELECTION') or, because only part of the puzzle was revealed, the puzzle board showed a profanity (e.g., 'DAVID HASSELHOFF' with the A's and S's uncovered but, among other letters, not the Hs or the E).This also dates back to the Chuck Woolery era.
